The arch is undoubtedly the most emblematic motif of Mediterranean architecture. A gentle curve, an opening onto light, the promise of elsewhere: an arch wall art poster brings your interior that sense of calm and structure so characteristic of southern homes. Discover our selection of arch and vault posters, in our signature warm neutral tones.

From the Romanesque arch of Provençal cloisters to the whitewashed vaults of Santorini, by way of the Andalusian ogives inherited from Moorish architecture, the arch runs through the entire history of the Mediterranean basin. It has a property that is rare in decoration: its curve softens a straight wall and breaks the rigidity of a contemporary interior, while giving an impression of height.

It is also the motif that plays best with perspective. An arch framing a luminous opening acts as an extra window — it visually opens up the space, which makes it particularly effective in a narrow corridor or an entryway without natural light.

Ideal in an entryway, a corridor or above a sofa: our inspirations for the entryway and our decor ideas for the living room. To explore: the entire Architecture collection and our Illusion posters. To read: how to bring Mediterranean arches into your interior.
